Tears of joy filled the air as the Oblate Housing Project of the OMI Colombo Province officially handed over two newly constructed homes to deserving families on August 8th and August 15th, 2026. This meaningful achievement brings the total number of houses built under the project to a monumental milestone of 522 homes dedicated to uplifting the poor across Sri Lanka.

Ceremony Highlights and Distinguished Guests

The handover ceremonies were a beautiful celebration of community, faith, and shared mission. The events were graced by international Oblate leadership and local supporters who gathered to share in the joy of the recipient families. Key attendees included:

• Generous benefactors and community well-wishers

During the handovers, the families expressed profound gratitude for finally receiving safe, dignified places to call their own. The presiding priests solemnly blessed the new houses and shared words of encouragement, urging the families to continue building their lives and futures with renewed faith and hope.
