St. Eugene de Mazenod
(1782–1861)
Rejecting a life of wealth and prestige, St. Eugene de Mazenod dedicated his life to becoming the servant and priest of the poor. Driven by a heart as big as the world, he gathered a community of zealous missionaries in 1816 to bring the light of Christ to the most abandoned.
