On 22 August 2026, the Sacred Heart Oblate Novitiate Community marked a truly momentous occasion with the initiation ceremony of five young men embarking on a deeper journey into their vocation—four hailing from the Colombo Province and one from the Delegation of Pakistan.
The evening commenced with a special prayer service, beautifully concelebrated by Very Rev. Fr. Roshan J. L. Silva, OMI (Provincial Superior), Rev. Fr. James Jayasinghe, OMI (Vicar Provincial), and Rev. Fr. Dudley Saparamadu, OMI (Novice Master).
Our joy was doubled by the esteemed presence of Rev. Fr. James Brobst, General Councilor to the Region of Canada and USA, who is currently visiting the Colombo Province for consultations ahead of the upcoming Provincial Superior elections. We were also blessed to be joined by numerous Oblate Fathers, Brothers, and scholastics in celebrating this milestone.
Adding even more cause for celebration, this blessed day coincided with the 34th priestly ordination anniversary of Very Rev. Fr. Roshan J. L. Silva, OMI, and Rev. Fr. Dudley Saparamadu, OMI, alongside several other Oblates marking their oblation anniversaries.
