COLOMBO – The OMI Colombo Province shares in great joy as we celebrate a significant milestone for our brother, Deacon Akila Janith, OMI, who has successfully completed his higher studies and formation in Rome.
Deacon Akila has officially obtained his Licentiate in Philosophy from the prestigious Pontifical Gregorian University. We also extend our heartfelt congratulations to his classmate, Deacon Noman Arif (Pakistan), who has simultaneously completed his Licentiate in Biblical Theology from the same university.
A Legacy of Service
Throughout their intensive period of study and formation in the Eternal City, both deacons have been a blessing to our international community. Beyond their academic pursuits, they generously served the International Roman Scholasticate and the General House, selflessly offering their unique gifts to enrich the life and mission of the Congregation.
Looking Ahead
As they conclude this chapter in Rome, we offer our deepest gratitude to God for this important milestone in their vocations. We assure Deacon Akila and Deacon Noman of our constant prayers as they prepare to return to their respective units. We look forward to seeing them continue their missionary journeys, steadfast in their commitment to the poor and the most abandoned, ever inspired by the bold spirit of our Founder, St. Eugene de Mazenod.
