The Oblate Province of Colombo joyfully celebrated the religious and priestly jubilees of eleven Oblate Fathers on 27 July 2026 at the De Mazenod Provincialate in Mattakkuliya. The event brought together a graceful gathering of Oblates and several lay associates to render thanks for decades of faithful service.

A Gathering of Thanksgiving
The Thanksgiving Eucharistic Celebration was presided over by Fr. Roshan Silva, OMI, Provincial Superior, while Fr. Gihan Senadheera, OMI, Assistant Novice Master, delivered an inspiring homily. Concelebrating alongside the Jubilarians was Fr. Eugene Benedict, OMI, General Councillor for Asia-Oceania, who is currently in Sri Lanka for provincial consultations.
The celebration was further enriched by the presence of Oblate missionaries serving abroad, including Fr. Joseph Benedict, OMI (USA), Fr. Nirosh Rangana, OMI (Bangladesh), and Fr. Samith Sandaruwan, OMI (Japan). It was truly heartwarming to see a large gathering of Oblates from across Sri Lanka come together to mark this momentous milestone.
