5 August 2026 marked a historic day for Samata Sarana. After the Oblates of Mary Immaculate entered the mission in February and became part of its governance, the existing Board of Directors formally stepped down on 5 August, entrusting Samata Sarana fully to the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate (OMI).

The occasion was graced by Rev. Fr. Eugene Benedict, OMI, Asia-Oceania Councillor, who participated in the Board meeting and brought the blessings and encouragement of the General Council. We are deeply grateful to him for being present with us on this significant occasion.

Samata Sarana is a refuge for the most abandoned and vulnerable—for babies and children, pregnant mothers, young and single mothers, widows, the elderly, and families living in the most difficult and deprived circumstances. It seeks to stand beside those who are poor, afflicted, abandoned and vulnerable, offering not merely assistance, but dignity, protection, education, nourishment, hope and a place where they are welcomed.

As Samata Sarana enters this new chapter, we entrust this mission to the care of God and embrace it as an Oblate mission lived according to the charism of St. Eugene de Mazenod: to go to the most abandoned and to proclaim the Good News through presence, compassion and service.
