Provincial Administration

Very. Rev. Fr. Roshan J. L. Silva, O.M.I

Very Rev. Fr. Roshan Jude Luxman Silva, OMI, currently serves as the Provincial Superior of the OMI Colombo Province, a leadership role he assumed on May 21, 2020. Born on April 2, 1964, he was ordained to the Catholic priesthood on August 22, 1992.

Fr. Roshan brings profound spiritual and administrative expertise to his leadership. He holds a Bachelor of Philosophy and a Bachelor of Theology from the Pontifical Urbaniana University in Rome, alongside a Licentiate in Spiritual Theology from the Gregorian University.

Prior to his current appointment, he served in several vital capacities across the province. His notable past assignments include serving as the Director of Suba Seth Gedara in Buttala, the Novice Master at the Sacred Heart Novitiate in Bandarawela, and the Managing Director and Superior of St. Vincent's Home in Maggona. He is a dedicated preacher, spiritual director, and organizer.

Very. Rev. Francis James Jayasingha, O.M.I.

Vicar Provincial

Fr. Don Francis James Jayasinghe, OMI has served as the Vicar Provincial since 2021. Born on April 8, 1956, he hails from the Catholic Parish of Midellawita in the Archdiocese of Colombo, Sri Lanka. He professed his first vows as an Oblate on September 8, 1984, followed by his Perpetual Oblation on November 19, 1987, and was ordained to the priesthood on August 6, 1988.

His first obedience was as a staff member at the Oblate Juniorate in Kohuwala. Throughout his priestly ministry, he has served in a variety of capacities, including Assistant Provincial Treasurer, Provincial Treasurer, mission pastor, Secretary to the Provincial, formator at the Oblate Scholasticate, and lecturer at the National Seminary. Alongside his duties as Vicar Provincial, he currently serves as the director of a province-run educational institute.

Furthering his ecclesiastical studies in Canon Law, Fr. Jayasinghe earned his Licentiate in Canonical Studies from Saint Paul University and obtained a Master’s degree from the University of Ottawa in Canada.
